Let’s Grow Hilo is the featured organization for the month of June. Let’s Grow Hilo started as a guerrilla gardening project led by Sam Robinson. Now part of the Downtown Improvement Association edible landscaping project, Let’s Grow Hilo provides a living classroom to grow produce, educate residents, and promote community pride and involvement.

In the spirit of Seva, or service, Balancing Monkey Yoga is hoping to raise enough funds to purchase needed tools for the organization. Specifically, Let’s Grow Hilo is hoping to purchase a backpack sprayer to use organic, homemade pesticide control to support the health of the downtown gardens.

Balancing Monkey Yoga is located at 1221 Kilauea Ave. in the Hilo Shopping Center. For more information, please contact 633-8555, or visit www.balancingmonkeyyoga.com. For more information about Let’s Grow Hilo, visit www.letsgrowhilo.com.
