Edward Kiyoshi Harada, 81, of Hilo, died June 15. Born in Honolulu, he was former chief engineer for the County of Hawaii, Hilo office manager for M&E Pacific, and an avid baseball fan and golfer. Visitation 4-5 p.m. July 12 at the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin; services at 5 p.m. No monetary gifts. Survived by wife, Jean; daughters, Dana Nagaishi (Raude) and Leigh Jusuf (Francis); brother, Richard; sister, Janet Kamasaki (Takashi); brother-in-law, Leonard Nagata; and three grandchildren.

Yaeko Hirakawa Medeiros, 87, of Honomu, died June 20 in Springfield, Ill. Born in Honohina, Hawaii, she was a retired Hilo Hospital Employee and member of Honomu Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Friends may call 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; prayer service at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by son, Bruce (Sylvia) Ishibashi of Honolulu; daughters, Linda (Duane) Meyer of Chatham, Ill., Betsy (Carl) Tanoue of Hilo and Velma (Florencio) Batin of Ookala; sisters, Tamae Shindo of Hilo, Kay Ishii of Honomu and Satsuki (Carl) Nemoto of Honolulu; sister in-law, Rose Medeiros of Honomu; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
