Emma Carpio, 76, of Kapaau died Friday at her residence. Born in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, Philippines, she was employed at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Island Harvest. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi and Kohala Kumiai. An all-night vigil will take place at the family home in Kapaau (54-367 Union Mill Road) starting at 4 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi; funeral mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Hawi County Cemetery. Casual attire. John Lawrence Perreira, 68, of Honokaa died July 5 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Haina, he was a retired assistant superintendent for the Hawaii Electric Light Company, a cattle rancher and a member of the Rock Island Riders ATV Club. Private services held.
