Beverley “Aunty Bev” Ann Leiko Arai, 79, Holualoa died Monday at her caregiver’s residence. Born in Pahala, she was retired as a teacher at Konawaena Elementary School. She was a member of Daifukuji Soto Mission, Daifukuji Fujin Kai, Teacher’s Bowling League and the Halulu Fishing Gang. Friends may call at 4 p.m. Aug. 10 at Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo for a 5 p.m. memorial service. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by son, Carlton Arai of Holualoa; daughter, Mona (Mike Bean) Arai of Holualoa; granddaughter, Lei Arai of Holualoa. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Walter William “Billy” Bond, Jr., 74, of Long Beach, Calif. died May 10, 2012 in Harbor City, Calif. Born and raised in Hilo, he was a carpenter for 21 years, a business representative for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Southwestern Region, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Interment 2 p.m. Wednesday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (“Punchbowl”), Honolulu. Survived by daughters, Kelli Bond, Patricia Alkawadri, and Lisa (David) Champa; hanai daughters, Isabel Cordero, Norma Melgoza, and Diana (Christopher) Hernandez, all of California; sister, Helen (James) McVitty of Florida; two grandchildren; eight hanai grandchildren; two hanai great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Diabetes Association.

Emma Ibea Hoffmann, 54, of Honokaa died July 11 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a housekeeper for the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and a member of the Annunciation and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic churches. Friends may call at 5 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass with burial to follow in the church’s cemetery. Casual attire; flowers are welcome. Survived by husband, Steven Hoffmann of Honokaa; brothers, Felix (Elena) Agdeppa and Fred (Sherry) Agdeppa, both of Honokaa; sister, Teresita Hostallero of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. William Norman Morris, Sr., 94, of Ahualoa died July 10 at his residence. Born in Harleton, Texas, he was a retired mortgage banker and WWII veteran who also served in Korea and Burma as a pilot. Maile Ann Ke, 66, of Kailua-Kona, died June 30 at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Honolulu, she was retired from Y.M. Hanato Style, Barber & Massage and W.S. Hanato’s Hairstyling as a barber. She was also a waitress for Manago’s Hotel and bartender and waitress for the former Ocean View Restaurant & Bar.
