Glacier to close campground because of bears
Glacier to close campground because of bears
WEST GLACIER, Mont. (AP) — Glacier National Park officials have temporarily closed one of the park’s campgrounds because of bear activity.
The Rising Sun Campground on the park’s east side was closed Tuesday after a bear laid on a corner of an occupied tent Sunday. The campers inside yelled, causing the bear to run away.
Park officials say they believe it is the same young black bear that previously stole a pillow from another camper and went through clothing near a lake.
A grizzly bear also has been seen in the area recently.
The campground will be closed while a bear trap is used.
