The Hawaii Island Contractors Association, Bank of Hawaii, & Honsador Lumber LLC recently held their 14th Annual Scholarship Trolling Tournament on Sunday, Aug. 4.

The fishing tournament ran concurrently with the Hilo Trollers and the Dodd Balock Memorial Tournament. Nine boats entered the Hawaii Island Contractors Association, Bank of Hawaii and Honsador Lumber LLC tournament and four boats caught flag fish: One marlin, one ahi, and two ono were weighed in.

The largest marlin and largest fish in the tournament was a 504.1-pound fish landed on the No Name Yet by captain Charles Ensey and angler Chuck Erskine.

The largest ahi, a 118.3-pound fish was landed on the Karen I by captain Lester Inouye and angler Paul “Scotty” Paiva.

The largest ono, a 22.6-pound fish was landed on the Andrea W by captain Rodney Nishiki and angler Clive Tanimoto.

Grand Champion honors in the tournament went to the No Name Yet for its crews’ catch of the largest marlin with a total weight of 504.1-pound fish.
