A new bus shelter is now available for riders to use in Hawaiian Paradise Park. This bus stop is located where the bus turns onto Paradise Drive from 16th Avenue.
This shelter is in addition to the community center stop located on Maku‘u Drive between 16th and 17th avenues, which serves as a dedicated bus stop for the new route. Parking for riders is available there.
The new shelter was constructed and made available by the Rotary Club of Pahoa Sunset. Past club President Alan Lakritz stated, “Our local club continues its efforts to support the needs of the community at large.”
This shelter is another collaborative project of bus shelters on the newest route of the Hele-On Bus service, which began on April 1. Two or more additional bus stops are planned for in the future, said a club spokesman.
