WAILUKU, Maui (AP) — An afternoon head-on car crash sent three people to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Maui police say two of the crash victims suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday.
Lt. William Juan says a small sedan driven by a 64-year-old woman just before 4:30 p.m. crossed the centerline of the Piilani Highway as it drove toward Kahulue and struck a small car traveling in the opposite direction.
A 50-year-old woman in the first car and the driver of the second car, a 48-year-old Kahului man, suffered life-threatening injuries.
The Maui News reports all three wore seat belts. Air bags deployed in both cars.
