set for Walmart

Keiki are invited to a “Read to Me” program at the Hilo Walmart from 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 7.

The free event for students in grades K-3 will be presented by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Hawaii County, along with Read to Me International, on the covered lanai beside the main entrance.

Parents, guardians and grandparents are invited bring their keiki to the “9/11 A Day of Remembrance.”

The child may read to the volunteer or the volunteer will read to the child. Each participant will be presented a new book, which will be donated by the RSVP Advisory Council. At the previous “Read to Me” event, 163 new books were given to the children.
