June Cabreira, lovingly known as “Mrs. C,” will be retiring from Kaumana Baptist Keikiland this month. Kaumana Drive Baptist Church is hosting a retirement party on Sunday to bid a fond “aloha” to her.

The program begins at 11:15 a.m. after the 9:40 a.m. worship service, and will be followed by a potluck lunch.

All are invited to join in celebrating her 33 years of faithful service at Keikiland.

“Mrs. Cabreira has worked at Keikiland since 1980 and worked in various capacities as a teacher aide, assistant teacher, kitchen worker and a custodian. She also taught a small class of her own for five years in the late ’90s,” said spokeswoman Veronica Higa.

Mrs. C follows a tradition at Keikiland of oldtimers working beyond retirement age.”

Cabreira turned 80 in July, and has continued to work faithfully with her warm smile, friendly manner, dilligence and love for all, said Higa.
