The Hawaii Island Going Home Consortium is a community-based group of more than 40 non-profits, government agencies, faith-based groups, businesses and volunteers who collaborate to provide support to Hawaii Island men and women released from correctional institutions, with reintegration into community life as they become successful and contributing members through employment, training and supportive services. This year, the group will recognize former Mayor Harry Kim for his support and commitment to the Going Home Consortium at its annual benefit fundraiser, E Ho’i I Ka Mole, “Return to that from which it came.” The festive evening is scheduled for Thursday at Nani Mau Gardens and will include a silent auction, dinner buffet and live entertainment by Yisa Var.
