Police are taking a closer look at a 40-year-old cold case, and are asking for the public’s help.

On April 6, 1973, the body of Gayle Hook, 23, of Napoopoo was found abandoned in a church pavilion in her hometown with a fatal gunshot wound to her left eye.

She had been reported missing March 29, 1973.

Police say they are re-evaluating the case with new technologies, but didn’t specify what new tools they plan to use.

Anyone with information on the case are asked to contact Detective Shawn Tingle at 326-4646, ext. 277, or stingle@co.hawaii.hi.us.
