Police are looking for two men who escaped Wednesday night from a community correctional facility in Hilo.

Police are looking for two men who escaped Wednesday night from a community correctional facility in Hilo.

The Department of Public Safety said that 27-year-old Andrew Wanat and 23-year-old Robert Garcia were last seen between 8 and 9 p.m. last night and were absent for the official head count at the Hale Nani men’s housing unit.

Wanat is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-11, 210 pounds, with a medium build, shaved head and mustache and goatee.

He was being held on a revocation of probation; his release was scheduled for Jan. 13, 2014.

Garcia is described as African American, 5-foot-7, 130 pounds with a slim build, short black hair and mustache and goatee.

He was being held on a probation violation; his release was scheduled for Oct. 2.

Both men were wearing Hawaii Community Correctional Center-issued white shirt and blue shorts.

Anyone who sees either or both men or knows their whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
