Police are looking for two men who escaped Wednesday night from a community correctional facility in Hilo.

Police are looking for two men who escaped Wednesday night from a community correctional facility in Hilo.

The Department of Public Safety said that 27-year-old Andrew Wanat and 23-year-old Robert Garcia were last seen between 8 and 9 p.m. last night and were absent for the official head count at the Hawaii Community Correctional Facility’s Hale Nani men’s housing unit.

Wanat is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-11, 210 pounds, with a medium build, shaved head and mustache and goatee.

He was being held on a revocation of probation; his release was scheduled for Jan. 13, 2014.

Garcia is described as African American, 5-foot-7, 130 pounds with a slim build, short black hair and mustache and goatee.

He was being held on a probation violation; his release was scheduled for Oct. 2.

Both men were last seen wearing white shirts with “HCCC” printed on the back.

Anyone who sees either or both men or knows their whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
