Ted Satomi Tanimoto, 88, of Hilo died July 25 at his residence. Born in Papaaloa, he was a retired electrician. He was also a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Laupahoehoe High School Class of 1943, Big Island Beekeepers Association, Kapualani Kumiai and a life time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Private services held. Survived by sisters, Betty (Asamitsu) Hiromura and Myrtle (George) Nakasato, both of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Kazue Tanimoto of Hilo; brother-in-law, Kenichi (Ruth) Yotsuji of Hilo; caregiver, Kanani Alfiche of Mountain View; numerous nieces and nephews. James Juzo Masuko, 96, of Hilo died Aug. 15 at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Waimalu, Oahu, he was a retired longshoreman for HT&T and tour driver for the former Slim Holt Tours. Private services held. No flowers. No koden. Survived by son, Glenn Masuko of Honolulu; daughters, Alberta Takashiba of Hilo, Mary Masuko of Hilo and May (Greg) Navarro of Papaikou; sister, Mitsue Tanaka of San Jose, Calif.; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The name of one of John Richard Ruggiero’s daughters was misspelled in an obit published Thursday. It’s Nancy Marsh, not Nancy March.
