Waiakea High will hold it Warrior 3-mile run/walk at 8 a.m. Sept. 21 at the high school.
The race is in honor of the late Wayne “Big Dog” Joseph, a former teacher and coach at the school.
The cost is $8 for students in grades 9-12 and $20 for adults. The event is a fundraiser for Waiakea’s cross country program to help defray costs to the Hawaii High School Athletic Association tournament.

The Hawaii Government Employees Association will hold a tennis fun day from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Edith Kanaka’ole Multipurpose Stadium.

Two HI-PAL events
are on tap Saturday
The Hawaii Police Department is hosting two HI-PAL “Click It Or Ticket” events on Saturday.
A volleyball tournament for ages 10 and under will be held at the Kawananakoa Hall gymnasium in Keaukaha beginning at 10:30 a.m.
And a basketball clinic for youths in grades 5-8 will be held at the Kamehameha-Hawaii campus’ middle school gymnasium beginning at 9 a.m. Participants will play 5-on-5 games after the clinic.
