The Hawaii Island United Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association invites the public to a special End of Life Symposium from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Kona Hongwanji Social Hall at 81-6630 Mamalahoa Highway in Kealakekua.

“The End of Life Symposium will be a wonderful opportunity to listen and participate in areas that impact all of us,” said spokeswoman Linda Nagai. “The topics to be covered affect young and old alike, as we experience the twilight of life, and by supporting our family and friends as they enter the twilight of their lives.”

The members of the islandwide Buddhist Women’s Association encourages everyone to participate in this educational and informative symposium.

The agenda topics will cover the following areas that everyone will experience at some time in our lives: Serious or terminal illness, unexpected deaths, caregiving, support networks, and legal/financial issues and plans.

Please call the Kona Hongwanji at 323-2993 to reserve your space by Sept. 27. Registration will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m. on the morning of the event. The registration fee is $5, which covers the cost of handouts, refreshments and lunch.
