The public is invited to the monthly “Malalo o ka Po Lani” cultural program at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Ellison Onizuka Center for International Astronomy Visitor Information Station’s presentation room at the 9,300-foot level on Mauna Kea. This fun and educational event is held on the third Saturday of every month. Admission is free. Star-gazing follows until 10 p.m.

This month’s program will feature Emma Yuen, a Natural Area Reserve system planner for the Department of Land and Natural Resources. She will share information on the history, culture, and potential effect of global warming on the future of Waiau, the highest lake in the Pacific Basin.
