Storyteller Dann Seki is sharing obake tales at some Neighbor Island libraries this month.
Seki, a versatile storyteller as well as veteran stage and screen actor, will share spooky obake tales and ghost stories just in time for Halloween. He has performed for nearly 20 years at public libraries, senior centers and storytelling festivals statewide.
On the Big Island, the public is invited to enjoy Seki’s “Obake and other Ghostly Tales of Japan and Hawaii” on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Keaau Public & School Library (phone, 982-4281) and at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hilo Public Library (933-8888).
This 45-minute program is suitable for ages 10 and older. Call the hosting library as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
