Wade Kalili protests his Hawaii Electric Light Co. bill by chaining himself to the doors of HELCO’s offices on Kilauea Avenue on Friday afternoon. After police arrived, Kalili unlocked himself willingly. This isn’t the first time the Keaukaha man has demonstrated outside the Kilauea Avenue buidling. On Sept. 12, Kalili sat himself in a chair outside the building’s lobby with a chain around his waist and locked himself to the handle of one of the two glass front doors while his daughter filmed. And in 2009, he began holding large signs airing his grievances outside the office.
