Chieko Iwasaki, 95, of Hilo died Oct. 20 in the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born in Honolulu, she was retired from the American Trading Co. and was a member of Hilo Meishoin Buddhist Temple Kyodan and Fujinkai and the Lower Kawailani Kumiai. Private services held. No flowers; no koden. Survived by daughters, Lillian (Robert) Lebel and Janice (Brian) Ikawa, both of Hilo; brother, Akira (Hazel) Fujimoto of Hilo; sister, Emiko Kamei of Honolulu; sisters-in-law, Sadako Iwasaki of Hilo and Takayo Hirata of Honolulu; hanai daughter, April Fely of Puna; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Wayne Masaichi Okada, 79, of Hilo died Oct. 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hawi, he was a retired fumigator and retired proprietor of Okada’s Termite Control. Private services held. No flowers. Okada of Hilo; son, Clay (Cheryl) Okada of Waikele, Oahu; daughter, Lorraine Okada of Hilo; brothers, Glenn Okada of Honolulu and Roy (Jeanette) Okada of Hilo; sister, Karen Okada of Hilo; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and cousins. Kenji Murota, 96, of Hilo died Oct. 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paia, Maui, he was the retired owner of the former K. Murota Bus Service. Private services held. No flowers and no koden. Survived by sons, Kenneth (Selm) Murota of Pearl City, Oahu, and Melvin Murota of Honolulu; daughters, Eileen Murota, Kayleen (Melvin) Honda and Linda (Richard) Tsunoda, each of Hilo; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Shane “Gonzo” Kuhaupio Choy Foo Leong, 28, of Pahoa died Oct. 7. Born in Honolulu, he worked as a Lead Foreman for Pacific Wireless Communications. Funeral services will be held Thursday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary in Kaneohe. Visitation at 5:30 p.m.; service at 6:30 p.m. Survived by parents, Lurene and Randy Choy Foo of Pahoa; grandparents, Rodney Choy Foo of Waimanalo and Francene Leong of Pahoa; sister, Shantel Choy Foo Leong of Pahoa; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Vernon Kamaileokalani Kahele, 18, of Captain Cook died Oct. 27. Born in Hawaii, he was a student at Milolii Hipuu Charter School. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Milolii Catholic Church. Feliciano “Felix” Ibea Agdeppa, 57, of Honokaa died Oct. 24 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Paratong, Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he worked at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua and Mauna Lani, was in the Hawaii Army National Guard, worked at the Hamakua Sugar Plantation and the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, was a papaya farmer, and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, The Hamakua Lions Club, the Honokaa Saranay Club, and Visayan Club of Hamakua. Friends may call Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Visitation from 5-9 p.m.; rosary and eulogy at 6 p.m.; Wake service at 7 p.m. Friends may call again Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation from 8-10 a.m.; Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Burial at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Survived by wife, Elena R.
