Honokaa High is accepting applications for a baseball head coach, a track and field coach, and football assistants.
Applications are available at the main office during school hours (7 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), and can be turned in to the main office or at the athletic director’s office at the school gym. The deadline to apply is Nov. 22.

Lyman Museum Golf
Tournament Nov. 23
The fifth annual Lyman Museum Golf Tournament will be held Nov. 23 at Volcano Golf and Country Club.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The tournament will include two-person teams in the scramble format with awards and lunch to follow.
The team entry fee is $500 and tee sponsorship is $150.
Platinum and gold sponsorships are also available.
All proceeds will benefit the Lyman Museum and Mission House.
Prizes already donated include rounds of golf for two to four players at the Mauna Kea and Hualalai Resorts.

Bears softball season
The Piopio Bears Athletic Association is taking registration for girls softball for ages 10-12.
Experience is not required, and coaches will teach basic fundamental rules of the game and sportsmanship.

Na Hoa o Puna soccer club will host a five-on-five tournament Dec. 14-15 at Shipman Park in Keaau.

Goalkeeper clinic
at Honokaa High
Longtime soccer coach Bob Barry will hold a goalkeeper’s clinic on Nov. 16-17 at Honokaa High School.
Registration will be held from 8:30-9 a.m. on Nov. 16, and the clinic runs 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day.
Each participant receives a free T-shirt.

Sunrise Athletics
runs are Nov. 17
Sunrise Athletics 5K Walk/Run and 2.5-mile Keiki Fun Run will be held Sunday, Nov. 17 at Waiakea High School.
Both races start at 9 a.m., and late registration and packet pick-up will be held from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m.
Applications should not be mailed after Nov. 11, but instead turned on race day.
The fundraiser will help offset travel costs for the Sunrise Athletics’ trip to the Footlocker Western Regional Cross Country Championships.

Parker School to host
run events Saturday
Parker School will host its 14th annual Heneghan Run on Sataurday, and the event consists of a 1K Keiki Run and a 5K Fun Run.
All proceeds will go to Parker’s Ohana Day canned food drive for local food banks. The entry fee for adults is $15 plus two cans of food, and for students, $10 plus two cans of food.
Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. on race day. The run starts at 8:30 a.m., while the 5K starts at 9 a.m. The fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments at the event, however, participants whose registration forms are received after Nov. 1 are not guaranteed a T-shirt.

Association tourney results
The Wanderers won the Hawaii Island Golf Association’s six-person tournament held at Hilo Municipal Golf Course on Oct. 27.
The Wanderers team led the field of 16 teams with a 7-under 348, which was a shot better than Thursday Hui. Hustler’s 3 and Hilo Korean 1 tied for third at 4-under.
