Representatives of the consulate will be available to process applications for Philippine passports, dual citizenships, delayed registration of birth, report of marriage abroad, dual citizenship oath-taking ceremony, and other consular services.
“This will also be an opportunity to meet the newly appointed vice consul, the Honorable Roberto T. Bernardo, and members of his staff, who will answer questions and concerns about Philippine-related issues,” said Rose Bautista of the county immigration info office.
“Filipinos of Hawaii County are encouraged to submit applications, as the Consulate Outreach Team comes to Hilo only twice a year,” said Bautista. “Many consular services require a personal appearance, so applicants must travel to Honolulu to submit their applications.
“The outreach service allows Neighbor Island applicants to avoid travel expenses that would otherwise be incurred by having to go to Oahu,” she explained. “Appointments for this event are highly recommended.”
