The Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) has been closed in both directions at the 44-mile marker in Honokaa due to a fire and downed utility line, Big Island police said at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday.
The road is expected to be closed for at least an hour. Traffic is being diverted through Ahualoa, police said.
