Everyone is invited to a “free and friendly” Thanksgiving Spiritual Retreat at Puna Aloha Farms starting on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, at 5 p.m. Following Thanksgiving will be three days of Kirtan — singing God’s names — philosophy classes, Hatha yoga and nice vegetarian food stuffs.
The retreat will feature guest speaker Acharya Das, world teacher of Bhakti Yoga, Mantra Meditation and Achieving Peace in a chaotic world. For those in Hilo area, Friday night Kirtan and Meditation Class will be held at the Good Karma House on Ponahawai Street at 6 p.m. All other events during the retreat are located in Leilani Estates near Pahoa. Please call 965-9140 for details and directions.
Kirtan is a nonsectarian activity, and people of any faith can add it to their lives.
“For us, the holidays are about giving thanks, remembering God and doing our best to share the abundance we’ve been given,” said one resident of the farm.
