A visiting Japanese group recently made a donation to the Pacific Tsunami Museum in downtown Hilo.
A visiting Japanese group recently made a donation to the Pacific Tsunami Museum in downtown Hilo.
The gift was from Wa Suru Kai, a group dedicated to sharing peace. Wa means harmony with nature and truth of universe. Suru means doing or taking action.
“The purpose of their donation was to express appreciation to the people of Hawaii for their support in the wake of Higashi Nihon Daishinsai (The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake 2011),” said museum Executive Director Marlene Murray. “The group, from Narita-City, Chiba Japan, plans to visit one country per year, for the next 10 years, to spread their mission of peace and gratitude.”
