Police have again closed Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) in both directions again due to brush fires at the 16- and 23-mile markers. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area as crews address the fires.
Traffic is being re-routed to Waikoloa Drive and the old Saddle road for those heading south on Route 190, and to Kaiminani Drive for those heading north on Route 190.
Expect delays and drive with caution as crews will be going to and from these locations.
