The Zonta Club of Hilo has holiday tips to help make this season less stressful:

No “bumbai this, bumbai that.” Plan ahead. Create lists of things you need to get and things that need to get done. Prioritize. Distribute responsibilities.

No go fo’ broke. Budget your money. Make a list of what you need to get. Take the time to cook your meals. It’s cheaper and healthier than eating out.

Chillax. Take the time to relax and refocus. Schedule in a “me time.” Take a beach cruise. Take a nap. Do something you love doing.

“Chop Suey” family traditions. Ohana is everything here in the islands. It’s good to keep old traditions going in the family, but it’s also great to bring in new ones. Memories will often survive longer than material things.

Chance ’em and try exercise. Studies show when you exercise, it creates endorphins that make you happy. Go running. Take a swim at the beach. Try yoga. Keep active.

Stressed during the holidays?

The Hawaii First Federal Credit Union and YWCA Hawaii Island are offering services to help quell that stress.

The HFFCU offers financial classes to help members in the community deal with the financial stresses of the holidays while the YWCA offers a De-Stress for the Holidays workshop to help members of the community deal with all the stresses of the holidays.
