Antonio “Tony” Gomera, 77, of Ookala died Sunday, Nov. 17, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Paauilo, he was a retired factory mechanic for the former Hamakua Sugar Company in Ookala and Honokaa. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Papaaloa, a musician for the church choir and he played the baritone ukulele. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a self-employed farmer and yard cleaning serviceman.
