for football coach

Keaau High School is seeking a varsity head football coach.

All interested parties can pick up an application at the school’s main office from 7:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The deadline to submit an application is 4:30 p.m. Dec. 18.

Egdamin is top shot

at sporting clay shoot

Dexter Egdamin won a compact shooting clay shoot in November at the County Trap and Skeet Range. The top shooters in the 100-target sub-gauge event were:

1. Dexter Egdamin, 59 (28 gauge); 2. Elton Endo, 56 (20 gauge); 3. Jordan Hara, 54 (20 gauge).

The next shoot will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 15. All shotguns, ammunition, and eye and ear protection shall be supplied by each individual participant. Targets will be provided.

January softball

tournament in Kona

The Westside softball team will hold a slow-pitch tournament Jan. 24-26 at Old Kona Airport Field.

There will be men’s and women’s divisions with a $300 entry fee. A $100 deposit is due by Jan. 19.

clinics in Kohala

The Kohala Community Athletic Association is offering clinics and registration for upcoming baseball and basketball seasons for boys and girls ages 9 to 14 from 4 to 5 p.m. Dec. 9-12 at Hisaoka Gymnasium.

Registration is free and includes a uniform and clinic.

league is forming

The Department of Parks and Recreation will hold an organizational meeting for T-ball and coach-pitch at 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at Aunty Sally’s Luau House.

The league is scheduled to start Feb. 3 and run until May 1.

Hilo High is accepting applications for the position of assistant track and field coach for pole vault,
