Looking for unique handcrafted gifts for the whole family? Everyone is invited to stop by the annual Christmas Craft Fair at the Hilo Shopping Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12-14.
“Drop by and visit with friends and shop our local vendors, who bring new items every year,” said Marcia Prose, event coordinator. “It’s a real kamaaina affair, with familiar faces and favorite vendors. Sewn items, jewelry, photography, soaps and lotions, clothing, gifts for the keiki, baby items, Christmas decor, goodies and lots more will be on tap.”
The Hilo Shopping Center at the corner of Kekuanaoa and Kilauea streets has been a part of the local craft fair scene for decades, beginning more than 50 years ago with sidewalk sales and craft vendors during the beginnings of the Merrie Monarch Festival and, later, with Aloha Week Festivals.
“The public is invited to shop our craft vendors, both inside the mall and outside on the covered sidewalk,” said Prose. There is no admission fee. Fair hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.”
