On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Palace Theater, we would like to extend a sincere Mahalo to the Frederick Yokoyama Fund for $4,000, allocated to support programs/projects that benefit East Hawaii, from Waipio Valley to Waiohinu; and to the Robert Emens Black Fund for $16,000.

The Hawaii Community Foundation FLEX Grants program is a partnership of many donors and has been generously supporting nonprofit organizations in need of assistance.
“We have been very fortunate to have received these grants and to have had the opportunity to serve our community for over a decade. The Friends of the Palace Theater continues to play a significant role in downtown Hilo, not only in terms of preserving this historic venue, but also in regard to preserving our culture, traditions and values,” stated Marta Birchard, the Palace’s executive director.
It is through the generosity of our benefactors the Palace Theater can continue to offer diverse, relevant and affordable programming. Have a blessed holiday season from all of us.
