Tiborcio “Tibong” Alfanta Genesiran, 88, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 17 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a picker for Walker Flower Farms. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27 at the family home, 76-6167 Plumeria Rd., Kailua-Kona. Prayer service at 6 p.m., followed by all-night vigil. Visitation again 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Honokohau industrial area. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by wife, Pedrita Genesiran of Kailua-Kona; sons, Rodrigo Genesiran and Julito (Juanita) Genesiran of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Valeria (Glorioso) Gadot, Levie (Clifford Gaspar) Genesiran, Jeaney Genesiran and Shirley Genesiran of Kailua-Kona; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Stanford “PJ” K. Hulama Jr., 32, of Hilo died Dec. 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Chiyono Kitamura, 81, of Hilo died Dec. 14 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was the retired proprietress of Itsu’s Fishing Supplies. John “Johnny” Macayan Sr., 79, of Hilo died Dec. 16 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of Macayan Motors Inc., former used car sales manager at Hilo Motors and member of Hawaii Army National Guard, Big Island Automotive Trades Association and Glad Tidings Church. Florence “Betsy-Sandy” Macaulay Mitchell, 89, of Volcano, died Dec. 16 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, she was a retired director of donor recruitment and community relations for the Blood Bank of Hawaii, cofounder and past president of Cooper Center Council; honorary mayor of Volcano and member of Hawaii County Police Commission.
