HONOLULU — Anthony Drmic hit a 3-pointer from the left wing with 59 seconds remaining to help Boise State hold off Hawaii 62-61 in a late quarterfinal of the Diamond Head Classic Sunday.

Drmic scored 21 points and made three of the Broncos (9-2) nine 3-pointers. They shot 50 percent (9 of 18) from behind the arc.

Brandon Spearman scored 17 points, Keith Shamburger 13 and Isaac Fotu 12 to lead the Rainbow Warriors (7-3).

Quincy Smith’s 3-point play with 1:37 to play tied it at 59 and Shamburger added a free throw to give Hawaii a one-point lead before Drmic hit the eventual game-winner.

The Broncos snapped a two-game losing streak and advanced to Monday’s semifinal round, where they will play South Carolina. The Rainbow Warriors, who had won their last five games, will play Saint Mary’s in a consolation game.
