HONOLULU (AP) — Police say speed and alcohol were likely involved in a head-on collision that killed three people and injured five others in Nanakuli.
Four people in a Honda Civic were going eastbound on Farrington Highway Saturday night when it collided with a Nissan pickup truck, splitting it in half.
The passengers in the Honda died at the scene. They included a 1 ½-year-old girl, an 18-year-old woman and a man in his 30s. The Honda’s driver was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The toddler’s uncle said the girl’s father was behind the wheels of the Honda.
Four people in the pickup truck were taken to the hospital in serious condition.
