The Aloha Performing Arts Company is launching a new play-writing group, which will meet every other Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. beginning Jan. 11.
This ongoing group will act as a theatrical sounding board, in which anyone currently working on a script could do readings and get feedback. Any group participant who wants to could then offer scripts to Felicity Johnson’s APAC Intergenerational Acting Class, for readings and even possible performances.
Aspiring writers who have not written anything yet, but want to give it a try as well as receive guidance and encouragement from the group, are encouraged to attend. Experienced members may take turns at leading the group for a session.
This group will meet at the APAC Loft in Kainaliu, which is on the second floor of the building housing King’s Daughters Thrift Shop, across the street from Aloha Theatre and south about half a block. A tuition of $10 per meeting will be collected to cover expenses and provide for materials. For more information, call 322-9924.
