Robert K. Ahu Jr., 85, died Dec. 28 at Greig’s Foster Care Home. Born in Pahala, he was a retired supervisor for American Electric and formerly worked for Pearl Harbor and Henry Kelii Electric. Visitation from 8:30- 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 9:30 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Robert K. Ahu III, Aran (Charlene) Ahu, and Evrin (Jen’ya) Ahu all of Honolulu, Gary (Wendy) Ahu, Eric (Rene) Ahu, and Kellen Ahu all of Hilo; daughters, Allena (Mel) DeLaMare and Bernice (Robert) Flores, both of Hilo; sister, Lorraine Pestano of Pahala, 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret “Marian” A. De Luz, 80, of Paauilo died Jan. 6 at her home. Born in Waipunalei, she was a ranch owner for De Luz Ranch and a retired secretary for the Hawaii State Department of Education, a member of Our Lady of Lourdee Catholic Church in Honokaa, a former 4-H livestock leader, a former catechism teacher, and a former secretary for Hawaii Saddle Club. Visitation at 8-10 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kalopa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire. Theodore “Zabu” Kenichi Kawasaki Sr., 60, of Hawaiian Paradise Park died Jan. 2 at the Hilo Medical Center. Daisy Fujie Matsunaka, 85, died Dec. 13 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired office clerk for KTA Super Stores and a member of Papaikou Hongwanji Mission and Silverton Kumiai.
