On behalf of the board and staff of the Palace Theater, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our warmest mahalo to the Cooke Foundation for its generous grant of $10,000 to support our theater upgrades.

Established in 1920, the Cooke Foundation Ltd. supports worthy endeavors in the community that make a difference in the betterment and welfare of the people of Hawaii.

The Palace Theater has been a prime showcase for Hawaii’s performing artists, indigenous filmmakers and local multicultural events for more than a decade.

The Cooke Foundation previously provided grants for ADA compliance and fire safety improvements to the theater.

This grant will be used to purchase energy-efficient stage lighting and lavaliere microphones for our performing artists.

The audiences will appreciate the clarity of sound and visually benefit from the new lighting system, which will enhance the production value of all events. More importantly, reducing the high cost of energy consumption will help the Palace Theater to achieve sustainability through the years.
