The entire family is invited to the second annual Ohana Fun Run from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Shipman Park in Keaau. This is a free health-and-wellness event.
The entire family is invited to the second annual Ohana Fun Run from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Shipman Park in Keaau. This is a free health-and-wellness event.
Registration for the 1-mile fun runs begins at 7 a.m. The high school run begins at 8 a.m., followed by preschool/parents’ run at 8:30 a.m., elementary run at 9 a.m., and middle school run at 9:30 a.m. Participants must have covered shoes, shorts and a water bottle.
Trophies will be given to the school with the most registered participants. The awards ceremony will be held at 10:15 a.m.
Additional activities include make-and-take crafts, community resource booths, jumping castle, water slide, emergency preparedness obstacle course, a fire inspector and his dog, food vendors and more.
This event is sponsored by the Puna Community Action Team, whose goal is to strengthen communities by providing activities for families and youth. For more information, call 966-5803.
