“Decades of degassing at Kilauea: Wake up and smell the coughing!” — a public talk Tuesday — will wind up the annual Volcano Awareness Month at After Dark in the Park.

USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory scientists Jeff Sutton and Tamar Elias will talk about Kilauea’s volcanic gas emissions and the effects of vog (volcanic air pollution) on the Big Island environment at the free program slated for 7 p.m. in the Kilauea Visitor Center at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Park entrance fees apply.
