The total distance of the four events were 48.6 miles.
Joseph, who passed away in 2013, was a Big Island running enthusiast and a former Waiakea High coach and teacher who was a correspondent for the Tribune-Herald.
“One of the last things Big Dog told me was, “I really would like to write about that story. … if I’m still alive then,” Morita said. “We miss you a lot Big Dog. You will forever remain in our hearts.”
