Chikao “Mike” Mukai, 86, of Hilo died Jan. 23 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. He was born in Hilea, Ka‘u, he was a retired Hawaiian Rel fleet mechanic, retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant and member of Hui Okinawa and Makalika Kumiai.
