Beginning Feb. 28, applications will be accepted for the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP).
ECP provides emergency funding and technical assistance to farmers and ranchers to rehabilitate farmland damaged by natural disasters. The resulting damage must be so costly to rehabilitate federal assistance is required to return the land to productive agriculture use.
Thos who suffered any damages because of the heavy rains and flooding that occurred from Dec. 19-31, contact the Hawaii County Farm Service Agency office at 933-8381 to report damages and for scheduling a damage assessment.
By doing a damage assessment, this process will allow the agency to view damages, determine eligibility, sign up for the Emergency Conservation Program and start practice.
