William “ChuChu” Kanuha, 95, of Hilo died Feb. 11 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired sales manager for the former Hilo Motors, worked for Bank of Hawaii and was a U.S. Army master sergeant and World War II veteran. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by daughters, Valli Kalei (Kata Issari) Kanuha of Honolulu and Janelle (Donald) Marshall of Makaha, Oahu; sons, Duane Kanuha and Serrell (Lynnette) Kanuha of Hilo, Edward (Fiona) Kanuha of Ronks, Pa.; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. George Sadao Nakano, 72, of Hilo died Feb. 11 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born on Maui, he was a retired painter. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Kahului Jodo Mission, 325 Laau St., Kahului, Maui. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Burial of cremated remains to follow at Maui Memorial Park.
