Yoshiaki “Sharkey” Ogata, 85, of Hilo died Thursday at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Puunene, Maui, he was a retired assistant air traffic control chief. No services. Ashes to be scattered. No koden. No flowers. Survived by daughters, Lea (Dell Kaneta) Kaneta-Ogata of Hilo, Wendy (Claude) Takanishi of Honolulu and Audrey Ogata of Hilo; brother, Roger (Agnes) Ogata of Honolulu; sisters, Yaeko Watase of Honolulu and Yachiyo (James) Masuda of Kahului, Maui; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Tadao Nago, 79, of Hilo died Feb. 3 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Pepeekeo, he was an employee of Pan American Airlines and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Private services held. Jane Satoko Ota, 85, of Hilo died Jan. 29 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center.
