The University of Hawaii at Hilo Performing Arts Center will present the 10th annual Girls’ Day Diva Festival on Sunday beginning at 3 p.m. on the Campus Center Plaza. “Festivities begin with food samplings generously donated by local women owned/operated businesses: Abundant Life Natural Foods, AJ &Sons Catering, Big Island Delights, Crivello’s Place, Ken’s House of Pancakes, Kuhio Grille, Liko Lehua Cafe, Millie’s Deli &Snack Shop, Pineapples Island Fresh Cuisine, Ponds Hilo, Sodexo &Sweet Thunder Sushi,” said Jan Higashi, event chair and also the founder of this exciting event which celebrates Girls’ Day in a very special way.
“People will also enjoy a silent and live auction and door prizes, with items donated by women owned/operated businesses and this year being our 10th, we are blessed with generous donations of over $10,000! So we plan to celebrate with all kinds of goodies: Fabulous food, special silent auction items and a lively live auction with a mini fashion show of outfits donated by Simply Sister of Hilo and other items! We love the new location of the Festival, which is the Campus Center Plaza above the Campus Center Dining Room, it’s open and airy and with lots of space to enjoy the festivities!
