The organizational meeting of the Hilo Ukulele Kanikapila Association will from 3-5 p.m. Saturday on the lanai of Church of the Holy Apostles, the Episcopal church at 1407 Kapiolani St. in Hilo, behind the University of Hawaii at Hilo Performing Arts Center.

“If you play or love the ukulele, want to learn, or love singing with a group, join with us to discuss the makeup and direction for this new group on the East Side,” said spokesman Mike Perdue. “After discussions, we will have a kanikapila, so bring your instruments.”

Ancillary players such as guitarists, hula dancers and others also are welcome. Music will be provided and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 339-5399.
