UHH soccer camps

UHH soccer camps

A trio of soccer camps is scheduled this month as University of Hawaii at Hilo Director of Soccer Lance Thompson, assistant coach Gene Okamura and the soccer programs begins their camp series.

The sessions follow:

Spring Break

Soccer Camp

• Monday through Friday, March 17-21; 9 a.m. – noon: 7-10 year olds, $60; 1 – 4 p.m.: 11-14 year olds, $60; 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.: 4-6 year olds, $20.

Women’s Soccer ID Camp

• Sunday, March 23; 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., UHH Soccer Field; ages 15 years & older, $50.

Men’s Soccer ID Camp

• Saturday, March 22; 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., UHH Soccer Field; ages 15 years & older, $50.

Registration will be taken up to the day of the camp. Forms are available on the UH-Hilo Vulcans Website at hiloathletics.com or by calling 932-7166.

Free Vulcan tickets

The University of Hawaii at Hilo athletic department is offering free admission to youth organizations for the 2014 home baseball and softball seasons.

Children 12- and-under wearing team or organization uniforms may enter home games for free. Organizations invited to participate include youth sports teams, boy and girls scouts, etc.

Tickets are available at the Vulcan Ticket Office and the ticket table at home games.

Paddling practice

Paddling practice for all returning and new paddlers to Kamehameha Canoe Club of Hilo has started.

All keiki practice at 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; women on Monday and Wednesday at 5 p.m.; men on Tuesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. Beginning men and women paddlers will meet Tuesday and Thursdays at 5 p.m.

Kamehameha Canoe Club is located at Hilo bayfront closest to Suisan and Wailoa River.

PCA workshop slated in Kona

The Department of Parks and Recreation and the Positive Coaching Alliance will be offering a positive coaching workshop, Double-Goal Coach: Coaching the Mental Game, on March 18 at the Events Pavillion at the Old Kona Airport.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the workshop will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost of the workshop is $5 which includes a work book.
