Hawaiian Paradise Park is the second largest subdivision in the United States, with a population of about 12,000. HPP maintains its own roads, and has a nine-member board of directors, chiefly to manage this maintenance work.
This year five, or more than half, of the positions will be open either for a full or a partial term.
Homeowners/lot owners are encouraged to be involved in this year’s election — by voting, or by running for a seat or helping with the election. A “get-to-know the candidates” event to be held prior to the election, will give homeowners/lot-owners a chance to engage their district candidates.
Coordinators said many candidates are needed, if there is to be a choice of candidates in each open district. March 14 is the deadline for board candidates to submit applications.
