HONOLULU (AP) — The Hawaii Department of Transportation has begun nightly lane and ramp closures on the H-1 freeway for a rehabilitation project.
Officials said the closures will allow the contractor to reconstruct deteriorating pavement.
The closures began Sunday night and will continue through March 28. Westbound lanes will be closed from Vineyard Boulevard to Halona Street from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. Transportation officials said speeds will be limited to 35 miles per hour when lanes are open during construction.
Motorists are asked to find alternate routes during the closures,
During the day, crews will be doing shoulder work on the H-1, but no lanes are scheduled to be closed.
